Abu Huraira
reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of
mine and that of my Umma is that of a person who lit fire and there began to
fall into it insects and moths. And I am there to hold you back, but you plunge
into it.
(Sahih
Muslim, Book 43, Hadith 18)
About
Humans
It was
narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“You refer your disputes to me and I am only human. Perhaps some of you may be
more eloquent in presenting your case than others, so I rule in your favor
because of what I hear from you. If I pass a judgement in favor of one of you
that detracts from his brother's rights, then he should not take it, because it
is a piece of fire that is given to him which he will bring forth on the Day
Resurrection.”
(Sunan Ibn
Majah, Book 13, Hadith 10)
About
Loving Allah
Narrated Ibn
'Abbas: that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Love Allah
for what He nourishes you with of His Blessings, love me due to the love of
Allah, and love the people of my house due to love of me."
(Jami`
at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 1, Book 46, Hadith 3789)
About
Oppressing Others
Narrated
`Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "A Muslim
is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he
hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother,
Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a
discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of
Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day
of Resurrection. "
(Sahih
al-Bukhari, Vol. 3, Book 46, Hadith 3)
About Honorable
People
Narrated Abu
Huraira (RA): Some people asked the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Who is
the most honorable amongst the people?" He replied, "The most
honorable among them is the one who is the most Allah-fearing." They said,
"O Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him)! We do not ask about this." He
said, "Then the most honorable person is Joseph, Allah's Prophet, the son
of Allah's Prophet, the son of Allah's Prophet, the son of Allah's
Khalil." They said, "We do not ask about this." He said,
"Then you want to ask me about the Arabs' descent?" They said,
"Yes." He said, "Those who were best in the pre-lslamic period,
are the best in Islam, if they comprehend (the religious knowledge).
(Sahih
al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 60, Hadith 53)
