Lesson - 28

About Compassion
'A'isha, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "I was on a camel which was somewhat intractable and the Prophet (peace be upon him), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, remarked, 'You must be compassionate. Whenever there is compassion in something, it adorns it, and when it is removed from something it disgraces it."
(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Book 26, Hadith 8)

About Guidance
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "He who calls others to follow the Right Guidance will have a reward equal to the reward of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any respect on that account."
(Riyad as-Salihin, Book 13, Hadith 1382)

About the Invocation
Narrated `Aisha: Whenever Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) paid a visit to a patient, or a patient was brought to him, he used to invoke Allah, saying, "Take away the disease, O the Lord of the people! Cure him as You are the One Who cures. There is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves no disease."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol.7, Book 75, Hadith 36)

About Walking to Prayer
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you performs ablution and does it well, then he comes to the mosque with no other motive but prayer and not seeking anything other than the prayer, he does not take one step but Allah raises him in status one degree thereby, and takes away one of his sins, until he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque he is in a state of prayer so long as he is waiting for the prayer.'"
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 1, Book 4, Hadith 40)

About Desire for Wealth
Ibn Ka'b bin Malik Al-Ansari narrated from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two wolves free among sheep are no more destructive to them than a man's desire for wealth and honor is to his religion."
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Book 36, Hadith 73)

About the Qur'an
Reported by `Uthman bin `Affan (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”
(Bukhari - Riyad us Saliheen Chapter 180, 993).

About Changing Evil
Reported by Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (RA): Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever amongst you sees an evil, he must change it with his hand; if he is unable to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is unable to do so, then with his heart; and that is the weakest form of faith.”
(Muslim)

About the Sweetness of Faith
Narrated Anas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will taste the sweetness of faith: 1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle become dearer than anything else. 2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake. 3. Who hates to revert to disbelief (Atheism) after Allah has brought (saved) him out from it, as he hates to be thrown in fire."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Book 2, Hadith 14)

About Journeys
Narrated Qaza'a Maula: (freed slave of) Ziyad: I heard Abu Sa`id Al-khudri narrating four things from the Prophet (peace be upon him) and I appreciated them very much. He said, conveying the words of the Prophet. (1) "A woman should not go on a two days journey except with her husband or a Dhi-Mahram. (2) No fasting is permissible on two days: `Id-ul-Fitr and `Id-ul-Adha. (3) No prayer after two prayers, i.e. after the Fajr prayer till the sunrises and after the `Asr prayer till the sun sets. (4) Do not prepare yourself for a journey except to three Mosques, i.e. Al-Masjid-AI-Haram, the Mosque of Aqsa (Jerusalem) and my Mosque."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 2, Book 20, Hadith 9)

About Charity
Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and asked, "O Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him)! Which charity is the most superior in reward?" He replied, "The charity which you practice while you are healthy, niggardly and afraid of poverty and wish to become wealthy. Do not delay it to the time of approaching death and then say, 'Give so much to such and such, and so much to such and such.' And it has already belonged to such and such (as it is too late)."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 2, Book 24, Hadith 23)
