Lesson - 20

About Medicine
Narrated Usamah ibn Sharik: I came to the Prophet () and his Companions were sitting as if they had birds on their heads. I saluted and sat down. The desert Arabs then came from here and there. They asked: Messenger of Allah, should we make use of medical treatment? He replied: Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 28, Hadith 3846)

About Sujood
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘When a son of Adam recites a Sajdah* and prostrates, Satan withdraws weeping, saying: ‘Woe is me! The son of Adam was commanded to prostrate and he prostrated, and Paradise will be his; I was commanded to prostrate and I refused, so I am doomed to Hell.’”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 1, Book 5, Hadith 1105)

About Hell-fire
Jabir narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Some of the people of Tawhid will be punished in the Fire until they are coals. Then the Mercy (of Allah) will reach them, they will be taken out and tossed at the doors of Paradise." He said: " The people of Paradise will pour water over them, and they will sprout as the debris carried by the flood sprouts, then they will enter Paradise."
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Book 13, Hadith 2597)

About the Quran
Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A believer who recites the Qur'an is like a citron whose fragrance is sweet and whose taste is sweet, a believer who does not recite the Qur'an is like a date which has no fragrance but has sweet taste, a profligate who recites the Qur'an is like basil whose fragrance is sweet but whose taste is bitter, and the profligate who does not recite the Qur'an is like the colocynth which has a bitter taste and has not fragrance. A good companion is like a man who has musk; if nothing of it goes to you, its fragrance will (certainly) go to you; and a bad companion is like a man who has bellows; if its (black) root does not go to you, its smoke will (certainly) go to you.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 43, Hadith 57)

About Jannah
Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, death will be brought and will be placed between the Fire and Paradise, and then it will be slaughtered, and a call will be made (that), 'O people of Paradise, no more death! O people of the Fire, no more death! 'So the people of Paradise will have happiness added to their previous happiness, and the people of the Fire will have sorrow added to their previous sorrow."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Book 81, Hadith 137)

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The first batch (of people) who will enter Paradise will be (glittering) like the full moon, and the batch next to them will be (glittering) like the most brilliant star in the sky. Their hearts will be as if the heart of a single man, for they will have neither enmity nor jealousy amongst themselves; everyone will have two wives from the houris, (who will be so beautiful, pure and transparent that) the marrow of the bones of their legs will be seen through the bones and the flesh."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 59, Hadith 64)

'Imran bin Husain (RA) reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Seventy thousand men of my Ummah would enter Paradise without rendering account. They (the companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Who would be those, Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He (the Holy Prophet peace be upon him) said: They would be those who neither practice charm, not take omens, nor do they cauterize, but they repose their trust in their Lord.
(Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 433)

About Divorce
Amr ibn Muhajir reported on the authority of his father: Asma', daughter of Yazid ibn as-Sakan al-Ansariyyah, was divorced in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). No waiting period was prescribed for a divorced woman (at that time). When Asma' was divorced, Allah, the Exalted, sent down the injunction of waiting period for divorce. She is the first of the divorced women about whom the verse relating to waiting period was sent down.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 13, Hadith 107)

About Jibraeel
Narrated Jundab bin `Abdullah: Gabriel did not come to the Prophet (peace be upon him) (for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, "His Satan has deserted him." So came the Divine Revelation: "By the forenoon And by the night When it is still! Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken you Nor hated you." (93.1-3)
(Bukhari Vol. 2, Book 21, Hadith 225)

About Heaven and Hell
'Imran b. Husain repotted that it was said to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him): Has there been drawn a distinction between the people of Paradise and the denizens of hell? He said: Yes. It was again said: (If it is so), then What is the use of doing good deeds? Thereupon he said: Everyone is facilitated in what has been created for him.
(Muslim Book 33, Hadith 6404)

About Rain
Abbad b. Tamim (al-Muzini) reported on the authority of his uncle: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) took the people out (to the place of prayer) and prayed for rain. He led them in two rak'ahs of prayer in the course of which he recited from the Qur'an in a loud voice. He turned around his cloak and raised his hands, prayed for rain and faced the Qiblah.
(Sunan Abu Dawud Book 3, Hadith 1157)

About Hajj
Narrated Ibn `Umar: I saw that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to ride on his Mount at Dhul Hulaifa and used to start saying, "Labbaik" when the Mount stood upright.
(Bukhari Vol. 2, Book 26, Hadith 590)
